My Art Journey

Hello everyone, ArtsySyd here! As I said on the homepage, the purpose of this website is for you to come along with me on my art journey as I pursue my career in art and game design. However, what about where I came from? It's best to assume you're jumping in where my art is now, 2020-21. Even if you aren't, the earliest you could be from is 2018. What went on before then? Well, that's a bit of a story as you can tell. Let's get started.
In the 4th grade (about age 9-10), I set my heart on doing something in the art field; I wasn't sure what yet, but I knew art was my calling. I started taking my art seriously by studying famous styles and trying to replicate them (and it shows a little even now). I was very obsessed with Disney Fairies/Pixie Hollow, Winx Club, and Bratz. I tried different methods as the years went on to make my style unique. When I got my first phone in the 6th grade, I immediately made an Instagram and primarily posted my art. I developed a bit of a following, having 1k followers by the start of 8th grade (late 2015), and learned how I wanted my account's dynamic to work after trial and error. Though I have since deleted the first Instagram, I made another account, @artsy.syd, and earned that following back and more. I thought by the end of 8th grade my art was good enough.
Then I hit high school. With the help of art teachers and critiquing peers in freshmen year alone, I developed my style further by learning the ways of anatomy. While they weren't perfect then, and still aren't now, the learning process paired up with looking back at my 4th-8th grade work motivated me to continue practicing to get my art to where I wanted. And while I'm still a bit of a ways from that end goal, I try to hype myself up by comparing where I was and where I am.
I'm now 19 and just recently graduated from high school. The very last picture was made within the last week of July 2020. Before I moved to my new Insta account, @artzy.syd, I made it to 2k followers on my old one.
If you happened to see me on my journey growing up, whether a friend/family member/follower/mutual, or you are brand new to me and my art, thank you so much for your continuous support! You-- yes, you there-- push me to continue my craft and learn new skills and techniques every day! If I stop, I feel like I let you down-- and I hate the idea of that. Just as I may be somebody's inspiration, you--as a supporter-- are my inspiration forever and always!
If you are pursuing an art career or other form of craft/skill, don't give up! Everyone's learning speed is different, don't feel like you're falling behind your peers or feel bad moving too fast among them. Look how long it took me to get where I am!
That's all for now, take this message as you may. I love you, stay safe, and stay shining~
